Brad
Brad Cummings is the Senior Partner and a founding member of Valor Veterans Law, a private practice dedicated exclusively to veterans benefits, appeals, and related advocacy. He is also one of three founding members of the Rocky Mountain Veterans Advocacy Project (RMVAP), where he previously served as Executive Director and Chairman of the Board, leading the organization from inception through statewide impact before stepping down to focus on private practice.
Prior to founding RMVAP, Brad served as a Clinical Fellow with the Veterans Advocacy Project at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and later as an adjunct professor in the Military and Veterans Law Practicum. He brings nearly a decade of experience as a veterans and administrative law professor, teaching hands-on advocacy and litigation focused on federal benefits systems and military administrative law.
Brad’s practice and teaching reflect deep expertise in veterans benefits and military administrative appeals, including representation and advocacy before VA Regional Offices, the Board of Veterans’ Appeals, the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, and all military Discharge Review Boards. He recently stepped away from nonprofit and academic leadership roles to concentrate fully on direct representation of veterans through Valor Veterans Law.
Brad earned his J.D. and an LL.M. in International Business Transactions from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, along with dual master’s degrees in Resource Law Studies and Environmental Law and Policy. He is a military veteran with 13 years of service in the United States Air Force, most recently as a Special Agent with the Office of Special Investigations. He earned his B.A. in Philosophy from American Military University in 2010, between deployments in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Having filed and litigated multiple claims on his own behalf and for other veterans before the Department of Veterans Affairs, Brad brings firsthand experience with the VA system and a practical, outcomes-driven approach to veterans advocacy.
